Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detector & Strobe Light (3 in 1)
What to know about your three in one unit.
An important thing to know about the three in one machines is that these units are very sensitive and must be cleaned each month in order to do their job. It is crucial to know how to do this properly and to remember to maintain them on a monthly basis.
Ensure the unit is operating properly:
- To make sure the unit runs smoothly, dust must be cleared from the sensors
- The easiest way to do this is to use a vacuum with a soft bristle head, and gently clean around the edges of the unit
- In the event that one of the units begins to chirp, refer to your owners manual
When to reset the unit…
- The unit runs under normal operation with a green light
- A red light will appear when it needs to be reset
- Monitoring your machines and resetting them when necessary will allow for the unit to be as effective as possible
How to reset it…
- After locating the one that needs to be reset, carefully twist and pull the unit down
- Flip the small white switch to the off position
- Disconnect the plug in the back and press the reset button on the front for three seconds
- To put the unit back in its place,
- Reconnect the plug in the back
- Turn the white switch back to the “on” position
- Put it back to its original position
- You should now see a green light, indicating the unit has been reset
Important to know!
- Please note, do not touch the red switch on the back of the unit, as this will permanently deactivate it
- If this happens, the unit will need to be replaced at the homeowner’s expense
- These units are wired directly into your new home and are backed up by sealed lithium batteries and a ten year life expectancy
- You will not need to replace the batteries in this unit, as it will need to be replaced completely at the end of its usage
